Andris Banka is a Doctoral researcher at the University of Birmingham, UK where he analyzes American drone strike practices and teaches a seminar on US foreign and security policy. He also serves as an Assistant Editor for the Civil Wars Journal/Routledge. Prior to joining Birmingham, Andris worked for a number of highly acclaimed policy centers and think tanks in Washington, Brussels, Amsterdam, and the Hague. He holds advanced degrees in international relations and politics from the United States (Florida), the Netherlands and Latvia. Mr Banka has been a recipient of various research grants and fellowships, including from NATO and Transparency International. His scholarly interests primarily lie in security studies and debates about America’s role in the world.
