Eoin Micheál McNamara is a Ph.D. Researcher in political science at the University of Tartu (Estonia) and an Associate Fellow at the Latvian Institute of International Affairs in Riga. His research interests include transatlantic burden-sharing (particularly within NATO), comparative security policy in Central and Eastern Europe, civil-military relations, US foreign policy (concerning Europe, the post-Soviet area and South-East Asia), and Asia’s rise in the international system. At the University of Tartu’s Institute of Government and Politics, Mr. McNamara’s lecturing experience has been as lead instructor and coordinator for courses in transatlantic relations and South-East Asian security. He holds an M.Sc. in security studies from University College London (United Kingdom); an M.A. in European Union and Russian studies from the University of Tartu; and a B.A. (Hons.) in history and politics from University College Dublin (Ireland). He has also studied at the University of Bergen (Norway).
