Dr. Ian Kearns (Co-Founder, former Director and Board Member of the European Leadership Network) has 25 years of experience working in the public, private and NGO sectors, the last 15 of them in organizational leadership positions. Ian served as the ELN’s founding Director between 2011 and July 2016. Between 2007-2009 he served as Deputy Chair and Director of Secretariat to former NATO Secretary General George Robertson and former High Representative to Bosnia, Paddy Ashdown, on the IPPR Commission on UK National Security Strategy in the 21st Century. Ian has also served as a Specialist Adviser to the UK House of Commons/House of Lords Committee on National Security Strategy, as a Director in the Global Government Industry division of the global IT services firm, EDS and as an informal foreign and security policy adviser to former Prime Minister, Gordon Brown and several other political party leaders in the UK. He has published widely on international security issues and on British foreign policy and is a frequent commentator in the national and international media. Most recently, he took part in the BBC 2 documentary, ‘World War Three: Inside the War Room’.
